What we retain
While your account is active, we retain information needed to operate GiftGenie: account details, gifting profiles, planner events, recommendation sessions, saved gift decisions, credit and billing records, and support correspondence.
How we use retained data
Retained data is used to provide and improve the service, show your planner and history, generate recommendations, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and resolve support issues. We do not sell your personal gifting data.
Retention periods
Account and planner data are kept for as long as your account remains active. Recommendation history and saved gift ideas remain available to you until you delete them or close your account. Aggregated or de-identified analytics may be kept longer for product improvement.
Deletion and export
You may update or remove much of your data through the app. To request account deletion or ask about data export, contact us via the Contact page. Some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business needs such as fraud prevention.
